It is reported that more than 10 chera coins were collected from pattanam.(Reports submitted to A S I 2007/2008/2009.KCHR Trivandrum.see antiquity registers.enclosed in the reports) According to Report these are not the chera coin collected by PK Gopi.If so this must be separately kept by KCHR. There is no reference of the first chera coin in the report.Why?Gopi's collection -all antiquities are register d in Hill palace Museum in 2004. Any way this Coin (2004) is very important.Later (2007-2009) according to the KCHR there are more Chera coins. this brings out a new area of investigation-- the possibility of a chera capital(may be the port of a branch of Early cheras of Karur.There are circumstantial evidences to show that there existed a VANCHI Tura in the area . itmight be the later Foreign Maritime Nodal Point This suggestion is based on the chera coins collected from the area.
