A turbaned Sikh, a US citi zen, was beaten up in a Chicago suburb on Tuesday in a hate crime during which the perpetrator called him a “terrorist“ and “bin Laden“, while asking him to “go back to your country“.
According to advocacy group The Sikh Coalition, 53year-old Inderjit Singh Mukker, a father of two, was on his way to a grocery store when he was attacked.
In a similar incident last August, a Sikh was run over after being called a “terrorist“ in New York. In 2012, a gunman walked into a Gurudwara in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, and shot dead six Sikh worshippers.
